Subject: You’re Invited: IIMC Region VI Mid-Year Meeting & Training – March 6, 2026

Hello Region VI Members,

We are pleased to invite you to the 2026 IIMC Region VI Mid-Year Education and Business Meeting, hosted this year by Minnesota. Region VI includes Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and we look forward to gathering together for a day focused on leadership, learning, and connection.

This year’s Mid-Year training will feature an Athenian Dialogue on Dare to Lead by Brené Brown, facilitated by Eelco Groenenboom, MSc, MMC. This highly interactive format creates space for meaningful conversation, reflection, and shared learning around courage, vulnerability, trust, and values-based leadership.

Eelco brings nearly 30 years of experience across all levels of government and currently serves as a City Clerk in the Netherlands. He was accepted in 2022 as the first Athenian Dialogue Facilitator based outside North America, bringing a valuable international perspective to the dialogue.

Training Highlights

Participants are required to purchase and read Dare to Lead prior to the session in order to fully engage in the Athenian Dialogue format.

This training has been pre-approved for 3.0 CMC points or 3.0 MMC advanced education points with completion of the required assessment. Registration is limited to 35 participants, so early registration is encouraged.

Following the training, the Region VI business meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m. For those who are able to stay longer, Trish and I will be exploring an informal opportunity to spend additional time together as a group, and we’ll share more details as they come together.
