This book is based on true events during the German occupation of the British Guernsey Channel Island from 1940-1945. It is written as a compilation of letters from the protagonist, Juliet Ashton a young writer from London. She discovers this literary society and begins corresponding with each of its members eventually going to Guernsey to meet the members of the Society. It is a reflection of the people’s resilience during wartime, their struggles and their friendship.  A quick read, it will make you laugh out loud.
