Study Abroad Program
The purpose of the program is to provide a unique educational and cultural experience for IIMC members with an evaluation of practical and academic studies. While the emphasis of this program is on education, the itinerary attempts to provide a good balance of touring the host country while interacting with the local government officials and attending educational sessions.

We thank the Municipal Clerks Education Foundation (MCEF) for their grants, making the programs possible.

2015 Study Abroad Program

The 2015 Study Abroad Program will be held in the United States beginning in Boston, Massachusetts on Tuesday, May 12th and will end Sunday, May 17th in Hartford, Connecticut in time for the IIMC Conference.

The program is based on a minimum of 15 participants and is limited to 30 participants on a first come, first serve basis. The itinerary is subject to change and we reserve the right to alter itineraries at any time.

Reservations: All reservations must be made by February 10, 2015 and require a deposit of 50% of cost per person, with the final balance due no later than March 10, 2015. Terms and Conditions must be signed before reservations are accepted.

Cost is: $ 2,040US  Single Accommodations   ~  $1,575 US Double Accommodations
Prices are per person.  A person occupying single rooms, either by choice or circumstances, will pay the single room accommodations.

MCEF Grants will be available. The MCEF Grants will be disbursed to IIMC members ONLY and will be issued AFTER successful completion of the program. Grant amounts will be approximately $300 to $600 per person based on number of participants.

Education Points/Assessment
The IIMC Education Department has approved the 2015 Study Abroad Program for 11.5 CMC Education points or 11.5 MMC Advanced Education points.

2015 Education Program Itinerary and Descriptions

In order to earn points toward the CMC or MMC Designation, participants must completed the required learning assessment. This assignment will consist of a 250 word essay for each session attended outlining the knowledge/experience gained during the session and how that knowledge will be useful to your municipality. Assessments will be due within 45 days of the completion of the program. Participants who have obtained the MMC designation are not required to complete the assessment.

IIMC understands that some participants have already obtained their MMC designation and do not need the points.  However, if you are interested in writing an essay or keeping a blog during the trip, IIMC would love to review it for consideration as an article in the News Digest or on our Facebook page.  Please send it to our Director of Member Services, Janis Daudt at .
