Master Municipal Clerk Academy (MMCA) Sessions

This year's Atlanta Conference Delegates will receive TWO Advanced Education Points for attending each MMC Academy, meaning that a Delegate can attend two Academies on Saturday and two on Sunday and can receive a total of EIGHT Advanced Education Points.

In the previous format of offering Academy courses at the IIMC Conference, a Delegate could not obtain more than six points (i.e., three points for each six hours of training in one day times two days of instructions). We offered the academies on two consecutive days and on each day one could register for only one Academy course for three points.

In the new format, a Delegate could obtain eight points. Now we have two Academy courses per day for two points each for a total of four points per day. We still have the two consecutive days of instruction at four points each giving the Delegates eight points (i.e., four points for each two Academy courses in one day times two days of instructions).

The new format will help Delegates with two extra points compared to the previous format, if you decide to take the opportunity of attending four Academy courses in two days. For more information, click on the link above.

The Education Points are in addition to the Experience, Professional and Social Contribution Points they will receive for their week-long attendance.

2010 Conference Awarded
Reno, NV, Chosen As 2010 Conference City- May 23-27. - Since May 2007, IIMC has been working with its United Kingdom affiliate, the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) to plan its 2010 Annual Conference in Liverpool. After numerous discussions and consideration with both Organizations, costs, time constraints, viability and other factors made the subject of holding an IIMC Conference outside North America in 2010 unrealistic.

In an IIMC Board teleconference on Thursday, February 14, the Board regretfully declined holding its 2010 conference in Region XI, however, the Board reaffirmed its commitment to hold a conference outside North America as soon as it is practical for IIMC.

During the same teleconference, the Board was provided with the option of choosing between Reno, Nevada and Omaha, Nebraska (two cities that bid on the 2012 conference) for its 2010 Annual Conference. Reno was chosen. Special thanks to both cities for their time and efforts in presenting bids. More information on Reno will be published in future News Digests.
