MASTER MUNICIPAL CLERK ACADEMY (MMCA)
Scholarship Criteria
2008-2009 Master Municipal Clerks Academy Scholarship
Applicants are invited for the 2008 - 2009 Municipal Clerks Education Foundation (MCEF) Master Municipal Clerks Academy (MMCA) Scholarships.
PURPOSE
To improve the professional performance of the Municipal Clerk and Deputy Clerk (or related titles) by awarding scholarships up to $100 at an accredited International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) Academy Program.
A $100 Academy Scholarship will be awarded for use at either an IIMC Conference or any recognized Institute Academy Program. MCEF will award 11 Academy Scholarships per year (one to each Region).
CRITERIA
The following criteria will guide awarding of scholarships:
- Applications must be postmarked no later than midnight January 4, 2008. The mailing envelope must show a dated postmark.
- Preference will be given to applicants who seek scholarship support to attend the entry-level Academy Program.
- Applicants must be members in good standing of IIMC. The IIMC membership fee must accompany the scholarship application if the applicant is not a member at the time of application.
- The applicant must be a Certified Municipal Clerk or Deputy Clerk (or related title) on the date of application.
- The statement of educational goals submitted with the application will be the major criterion for evaluating the application.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the scholarship recipient upon receipt of evidence from the Institute that the recipient attended and paid for the Academy Session.
Scholarships will be announced at the IIMC Conference in May. Scholarships must be used between June 1, 2008 and May 31, 2009.
Most Institutes convene annually for one week while others meet more than once a year for sessions of less than one week's duration. Scholarship payments will be made after the individual recipient completes the year's course of study.
