MCEF PROGRAMS FOR EDUCATION GRANTS AND DISTANCE LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS
State Provincial Association Grants For Education
Scholarships For IIMC Distance Learning Programs

The Municipal Clerks Education Foundation, the fundraising arm of IIMC, has approved two new programs to benefit Municipal Clerks education:

1) State/Provincial Association Grants
2) Scholarships for Distance Education

Both Programs are in place. The Grants will be awarded in December 2008 and must be used within one year of the award. DEADLINES FOR BOTH PROGRAMS ARE MONDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2008.

STATE/PROVINCIAL ASSOCIATION GRANTS FOR EDUCATION

MCEF will award up to four, $500 State/Provincial Grants for Education. The State Associations may only use these Grants for educational purposes. The criteria to apply for the Grant is:

  • Application by the State/Provincial President on the proper form;
  • Statement in 200 words or less what the Grant will be used for and why you feel it should be granted;
  • Grant must be used within one year of the award; and
  • Applications must be postmarked prior to the deadline.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR IIMC DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMS

MCEF will award up to 10 Scholarships to Municipal Clerks to participate in the IIMC Distance Learning Program. Priority will be given to individuals who have not yet received their Certified Municipal Clerk designation (CMC). The criteria for applying for the scholarship is:

  • Applications by Municipal Clerks or related title;
  • Employed by a Municipality with a population under 15,000 as of 2000 census;
  • Access to a computer to do the program;
  • Scholarship must be used within one year of the award; and
  • Applications must be postmarked prior to the deadline.
