This course covers a wide selection of topics that explore the interpersonal side of communication. Communication II covers the topics of organizational communication. A participant can take both courses together but cannot take II before completing I. Interpersonal Communication will survey both the popular and academic literature to give the participant a flavor of what kind of knowledge is being developed and tested to make us all better communicators. Word documents and PDF files will be available on this site to read and react to. Requirements include short reaction essays and interaction with other participants via threaded discussions on the message board. This course asks the Clerk to think about what was read and communicate this to another participant in the course. By exchanging views and thinking through ideas, concepts, models, and theories it is hoped the participant will come away with an appreciation of the complexity of human communication at the most personal level. This course is divided into ten learning modules and a final assessment. All learning modules and the final assessment are graded as pass/not passed yet. |
