SHARON CASSLER, MMC

Hello fellow clerks, I'm Sharon Cassler, Clerk of Council, City of Cambridge, Ohio. I've served my local community 23 years and cherish the opportunity to serve the IIMC community as Vice President. I've been an active IIMC member since 1988 and have attended every annual conference since 1994. I've served on many IIMC committees; chairing education & personal growth, regional chapters task force, retired clerks task force, served as a member of conference policy, public relations, and currently serve as membership committee chair. I served as Region V Director from (2001-2003). I've served as an IIMC educational session speaker, most notably for "ethics in the workplace," and "promoting the office of municipal clerk." As a Municipal Clerk I'm passionate about professionally representing all Municipal Clerks - my colleagues! I'm committed to working diligently to make our Organization truly member driven. IIMC's mission is very simple - "Professionalism in Local Government through Education." RONNY FREDERICKX

IMC Region XI Director

Ronny Frederickx received a Master's Degree in Political Sciences - Public Management from Leuven University. In 1980, Mr. Frederickx became City Secretary of the city of Essen, Belgium. He has served as president of the Belgian and Flemish Association of City Secretaries (1997-2004). Mr. Frederickx's involvement in international relationships includes serving as a board member and past secretary-general of UDITE, the European association of city clerks/managers. He was the co-founder and board member of PRIMO EUROPE (Public Risk Management). Education is one of Mr. Frederickx's priorities. He is a teacher at the School of Public Administration and served as an advisor at the Public Management School of the University of Antwerp. He served as a member of the High Council of the Interior of the Flemish Parliament and is currently the vice-chair of the Court of Appeal of Local Elections. Mr. Frederickx is a member of IIMC for several years and served as chair of the International Relations Committee (2006-2007). Candidate for Region II - Three-Year Term

I am the Municipal Clerk of the city of Paterson, the third largest City in New Jersey and the third oldest Industrial City in the United States, with a population of approximately 150,000.

I joined the Municipal Clerk's Office beginning in 1966, moving along the clerical ranks until my appointment as the Municipal Clerk in 1990.

In addition to my statutory duties as Municipal Clerk, I have served on many Boards and been involved in numerous community projects.

I became a member of the Municipal Clerks Association of New Jersey in 1995. Since that time I served as Chair of the critical Education and Election Committees and state-wide Conferences. In 2005 I was honored to be elected as President of that organization.

My experience gained by attending the International Conferences has allowed my growth as a Municipal Clerk to continue outside of the State of New Jersey. As colleagues we share similar responsibilities, and the common link that binds us is the word "International."

I ask for your support to allow me to serve as Region II Director and to continue our vital role in the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Candidate for Region IV - Three-Year Term

Elected as City Clerk/Treasurer in 1995 for the City of Clarksville, Arkansas. I have been a member of IIMC since my election in 1995. I am a member of the Arkansas City Clerks, Recorders and Treasurers Association and served as District III Director in 1998, and held the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, 2nd Vice President, Vice President, and President in 2002. Nominated as Clerk of the Year in 2003 and currently serve on the Education Committee. I received my CMC certification in 1998 and was accepted into the Master Municipal Clerk Academy Program in 2003. I have been an Active member of the Arkansas Municipal League served on the Executive Committee in 2003 held the office of Vice President of District 3 for the State of Arkansas and currently serve on the Advisory Council for First Class Cities. I look forward to serving as the IIMC Region IV Director.

Candidate for Region VI - Three-Year Term

Shari Moore is the City Clerk for the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. She began her career with the City in 1987 holding various positions in video production and citizen service before becoming the Deputy City Clerk in 1998 and the City Clerk in 2006.

Shari has been a member of IIMC since 1998 and was the Host Clerk of the 2005 IIMC Conference in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She also served as Chair of the Conference Policy Committee and is a member of the Regional Restructuring Task Force. She is a Certified Municipal Clerk within IIMC and the Minnesota Clerks and Finance Officers Association.

Shari is a graduate of Minnesota State University Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and an emphasis in Public Relations.

JERRY LOVETT-SPERLING, MMC

Candidate for Region VII - Three-Year Term

My career in local government with the city of Lindsborg, Kansas, also known as Little Sweden, began in 1994 and I immediately saw the value in membership in the City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. My CMC status was awarded in 1998 and I received my MMC designation on my birthday of last year. I have held positions on various committees in my state organization as well as service on the board of directors, Secretary, Vice President and President of our state organization. Currently I am a member of the Mentoring Committee for IIMC and have previously served on the Program Review and Certification Committee. Additionally I am a member and past president of the Kansas Association for Court Management and currently serve on the Kansas Supreme Court Municipal Court Clerk Education Committee and provide orientation instruction for new Municipal Court Clerks across Kansas. Locally, I am a graduate and past president of Leadership Lindsborg and serve on the Community Wellness Action Team for our Lindsborg Tomorrow effort. Lindsborg is a small community (pop. 3,700) known for our many festivals, the 127th Annual Messiah performance and home to an extensive artist community. Lindsborg... the place to be, to play, to live and to stay.

STEPHANIE KALASZ

Candidate for Region VIII - Three-Year Term

As a member of IIMC and the Idaho City Clerks Treasurers and Finance Officers Association (ICCTFOA) since 1999, Stephanie has attended the IIMC national conferences in Whistler, BC and Anaheim and Atlanta in 2008 in addition to the 2004 IIMC Region VIII Conference in Boise, ID. She has attended the annual ICCTFOA Conference each year since being appointed City Clerk. As a member of ICCTFOA, she has served as First Director and Second Director in Region 2, she is Co-Chair of the Awards Committee; and also serves on the Legislative and Mentoring Committees. Stephanie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She has worked for the City of Moscow for 8+ years starting in a Secretary II position in March of 1999 and was promoted after four months to Administrative Secretary/Deputy City Clerk. In 2003, she was appointed as City Clerk. Stephanie has a very diverse work background which includes working for the Political Science Department at the University of Washington. She is excited about continuing her education; enhancing her involvement; sharing her experience; and working with clerks from her Region and around the world as part of IIMC.

Region X - CANADA

MARC LEMOINE
Deputy City Clerk
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Candidate for Region X - Three-Year Term

Winnipeg is a city of 700,000 citizens located in Manitoba, Canada. My formal education includes a Bachelor of Computer Science Honours and a Masters of Business Administration. My experience includes 20 years in Civic Government including 6 years as Deputy City Clerk.

I am a strong believer in the Clerk being an integral part of the decision-making process, providing both procedural and policy advice to both the Council and the Administration.

I am a strong advocate of the use of technology to improve processes and reduce costs. Our City Clerk's Department has become a leader in Canada in using technology to better deliver results. Highlights include implementation of E-Government systems including online agendas, minutes and audio recordings for Council and its committees; intoduction of Automated Voting Machine and online election technologies; and establishment of Electronic Data Records Management Systems to ensure that electronic records are fully integrated into record management processes.

As director of the Canadian region, it would be my intent to focus on true professional development for City Clerks including the exploration of emerging technologies, and the sharing of this information through conferences, newsletters, websites and e-mails for the benefit of all members.

Region XI - OUTSIDE NORTH AMERICA

Candidate for Region XI - Three-Year Term

Qualified with a BA Hons. degree in Government and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management.

Between 1973 and 1990 worked in a variety of professional and management positions for IBM UK Ltd in Portsmouth, Paris and London.

From 1990 to 1993 was Head of External Affairs at the UK Environment Agency in London.

Became a single parent in 1993 and as a result entered Local Government as Town Clerk to Chard Town Council in Somerset.

In 2001 was seconded to the Society of Local Council Clerks as part time Chief Executive. Became full time Chief Executive in 2003. In 2004 also took on part a part time role as Parish Clerk to Yarcombe Village Council in Devon through a service agreement with SLCC.

Serves on a number of National Committees including the Monitoring and Verification Board for the Certificate in Local Council Administration, The Local Councils National Training Strategy Partnership, The Local Council Legislation Implementation Workgroup.

Married with four grown up children. Spends leisure time, walking long distance trails or at his holiday home in Salama on the Portuguese Algarve.
